Per St. Paul Pioneer Press Vikings writer Chris Tomasson, more speculation is brewing about the fate of Adrian Peterson’s future as a Minnesota Viking. Tommasson referenced a Bleacher Report story quoting an unnamed AFC general manager as saying, “My person(al) opinion is this (coming) season will be Peterson’s last with the Vikings. Despite the cap hit, they’ll make some sort of move to get him off the roster.”
Now yes, this is not new news. Talk of this has been sworming over this past season. Some Vikings fans even passed out when Peterson said he has thought about the possibility of finishing his career in his home state of Texas, with the Dallas Cowboys.
This could pan out to be a win – win for both AP & the Vikings.
While Peterson while go down in history as one of the most recognizable Minnesota Vikings in history, let’s be honest, this may not be a bad thing for the team or Peterson.
Next season the team could clear cap room for future players and All Day may get his wish. Many, like I would love to see him stick it out and open the new stadium, but his legs aren’t getting any younger and the beat dowm this guy takes heading into the Endzone is amazing to watch but will eventually take it’s toll.
There is no backing or truth to the sources as of yet on Peterson’s future in Minne, but don’t be shocked if this is his last season either.
